~*~ We are
fortunate that people don't mind sharing their stashes of fabric, yarn, notions,
etc. to help us create the sweet layettes we make for the babies.
~*~ Below is a sample of supplies the volunteers can always use:
~*~
FABRICS*: For clothing and blankets, we use flannel (most needed), cotton,
cotton blends, cotton knits, ribbed knits, terry cloth, pre-quilted fabric or
panels, juvenile prints, ginghams, calicos, and pastel and white solids. We use
denims, ducks, and cottons for diaper bags.
~*~ YARN: No wool, please; preferably, soft baby yarns.
~*~ NOTIONS: Threads, serger threads, hand needles, sewing machine needles,
scissors, rotary cutters and blades, rotary cutting mats and rulers, crochet
hooks, knitting needles, quilt basting guns and refills, batting, polyfil
stuffing, patterns for preemie and newborn sizes.
~*~
PACKAGING AND DELIVERING: Detergents (Dreft, Ivory Snow, etc.), zip-type storage
bags: one, one and one-half, and two gallon sizes; sturdy plastic shopping bags
with handles (Ex: Dillard's, etc. Smaller shopping bags are great too, Ex:
Charlotte Russe, Old Navy, Body Shop, etc.) These sturdy bags help make
deliveries a lot easier! :)
~*~ NEW AND GENTLY USED BABY ITEMS: New and/or clean, gently used newborn and
preemie clothing and bedding items are welcome.
~*~ BABY TOILETRIES: Shampoo, lotion, wipes, diapers, etc. All sizes, all
brands.
~*~ MONETARY DONATIONS & STORE GIFT CERTIFICATES:
Very much appreciated to help purchase needed supplies. Fabric Stores, Major
Department Stores & Kids Specialty Stores, in our area: JoAnn Fabrics,
Michael's Crafts, Target, K-Mart, Wal-Mart, Penney's, Sears, Dillard's,
Gymboree, Toys'R'Us
~*~ All
donations are greatly appreciated and tax deductible. Please ask for a receipt.
~*~ *PLEASE NOTE: We are able to use MOST fabrics and yarns donated to us and we
appreciate it all! Those we cannot use, such as woolen fabrics, are donated to
other organizations that can use that type of fabric or yarn for other
charitable purposes. We are blessed to have great sources for networking with
other caring organizations and love to help fill the needs whenever we can!

~*~ Ask us how much we can make out of a yard of fabric for the babies! You will
be impressed!!!
~*~ From
time to time we have fundraiser to help bring in funds so we can pay the rent on
the storage unit, buy flannel, other fabrics, yarn, etc., on sale, buy any
other supplies we need, etc. We work hard in all areas, to help the babies!
~*~ Craft supplies, quality-made crafts, and, new and gently used, salable gift
items are needed for future fundraising events (Craft Shows, Flea Markets, etc.)
~*~ Car Wash
Supplies: well worn, clean towels, buckets, pails or tubs to hold water, drying
racks, car wash liquid such as Turtle Wax brand, etc., hoses, sprayers,
sunscreen, poster board for signs and, elbow grease. ;)

envelopes-all sizes, Stamps, Notebooks, etc.
